The Canadian Department of Global Affairs (Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development) announced assistance for more than a thousand people to leave Lebanon, following the intensification of the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.

The department stated - according to the Canadian newspaper "La Presse," today /Monday/ - that a flight was allocated the day before yesterday /Saturday/ that transported 126 passengers and another yesterday /Sunday/ that brought 139 passengers from Lebanon.

The department urged its citizens to leave Lebanon and that it provided flights last week for over 5,000 Canadians and permanent residents and their family members who expressed interest in leaving Lebanon.

The department confirmed that the passengers it assisted include Canadians and permanent residents and their families, in addition to citizens from countries such as the United States, Argentina, Australia, and others.. It noted that more than 25,000 Canadians had registered in Lebanon as of yesterday, but Canadian Foreign Minister "Melanie Joly" stated that nearly 45,000 Canadians may be in the country.
She explained that commercial flights are still available to various destinations, with departures scheduled in the coming days.
