Several sources reported Egyptian-Israeli communications exchange to hold an urgent security meeting regarding the shooting on the shared border, and the formation of an Egyptian-Israeli committee about the shooting incident on the border between the two countries, and preventing its recurrence.

The Egyptian military spokesman announced today, Saturday, the details and circumstances of the shooting incident on the border with Israel which resulted in the death of 3 Israeli soldiers, according to a statement issued earlier today by the Israeli army as well.

According to the Egyptian army statement, at dawn today, Saturday, one of the security personnel assigned to secure the international border line pursued drug smuggling elements, and during the pursuit, the security personnel broke through the security barrier and an exchange of fire occurred, leading to the death of 3 Israeli security personnel and the injury of two others, in addition to the death of an Egyptian security personnel during the exchange of fire.

The Egyptian military spokesman also confirmed taking all search, inspection, and security measures for the area, as well as taking legal procedures regarding the incident.

This comes while the Israeli army announced today, Saturday, the increase in the number of Israeli soldier casualties during the clashes on the border with Egypt in the regional brigade area of Paran to 3 killed.

Furthermore, the circumstances of the incident are being investigated, and the area is being combed, in cooperation between the two armies, according to statements issued by the Israeli army.

Israeli media published reports on finding the bodies of Israeli soldiers on the border with Egypt hours after the incident.
