The Sault Ste. Marie police have accused a 22-year-old man of animal cruelty following an attack on a dog last Thursday morning
The police said in a press release yesterday, Friday: "We received a 911 call about someone kicking and punching a dog with a skateboard near the intersection of Wellington Street and Carmen's Wayg West."
He added: "Officers were sent to the area and found the suspect, arrested the accused, seized the dog, and provided it to a local agency."
The charges include animal cruelty and violating a probation order.
The accused was released on a summons and is scheduled to appear in court on June 17.
