During the past three months, Israel has managed to carry out a series of targeted assassinations and intense military operations aimed at leaders in Hamas and Hezbollah, due to a combination of factors, including "international cooperation".
Hamas launched unprecedented attacks on Israel about a year ago, resulting in the deaths of approximately 1,200 people, most of whom were civilians, including women and children, according to official figures.
In response, Israel retaliated with intensive bombardments and ground military operations, resulting in the martyrdom of about 42,000 people, most of whom were women and children, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza.
In Lebanon, Hezbollah announced the opening of a "support front" for Hamas starting October 8, 2023, and mutual operations with Israel continued for nearly a year before tensions escalated significantly on September 23.
A report from the American site "Axios" focused on the factors that helped Israel achieve these assassinations in a short period, emphasizing the following points:
Precise Intelligence
Israel established a special unit within the internal security service (Shabak) to pursue and assassinate Hamas and Hezbollah leaders. This unit relied on accurate information from multiple sources, including intelligence cooperation with the United States.
International Cooperation
American intelligence played a vital role in supporting Israeli operations, especially in tracking Yahya Sinwar, who is considered the mastermind of the October 7 attacks. With the help of U.S. special forces, he was martyred after an armed clash.
Advanced Military Technology
Israel used advanced technologies in its attacks, including precise airstrikes and remote detonations. These attacks resulted in the deaths and injuries of thousands of Hezbollah fighters.
Political Assassinations
The operations included the assassination of political leaders in opposing organizations, including the attack targeting the head of Hamas' political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran.
Conducting Multiple and Simultaneous Strikes
Israel relied on executing a series of simultaneous strikes targeting command centers, storage, and weapons of Hamas and Hezbollah.
Undermining the Infrastructure of Armed Organizations
The operations focused on destroying the infrastructure of armed organizations, contributing to weakening their capacity to respond.
During the operations, large parts of Hezbollah's arsenal of rockets and weapons were destroyed, targeting weapons depots and command centers.
