In a new post on the “X” platform on Wednesday, billionaire Elon Musk described Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as “an unbearable tool,” and indicated that he “won’t remain in power much longer.”

Musk's comment came in response to a video of Trudeau discussing Kamala Harris's loss in the U.S. presidential elections, describing it as “a setback for women’s advancement.”

Trudeau said in his speech at an Equal Voice Foundation event in Ottawa on Tuesday:

“We were moving towards continuous progress, even if it was sometimes difficult. But just a few weeks ago, the United States voted for the second time not to elect a woman president.”

He added that women’s rights and progress are “being attacked openly and subtly,” and emphasized:

“I will always be proud to be a feminist.”

Musk, who is the CEO of Tesla and the founder of SpaceX, was recently appointed as co-chair of a new department in the government of elected President Donald Trump, known as the “Government Efficiency Department.” Musk was also a prominent figure in Trump’s election campaign.

This post is Musk's latest criticism of Trudeau since Trump’s re-election in November. Earlier this month, Musk responded to a user who asked for his help in getting rid of Trudeau, saying:

“He will disappear in the next election.”

Ontario Premier Doug Ford informed Trudeau that his comments about the U.S. elections were “not helpful,” noting that Canada’s provincial leaders confirmed that the message was received clearly.

Musk's statements came amid rising tensions between Canada and the United States, as Trudeau faces a series of criticisms on social media from Trump.

During Trudeau’s visit to Mar-a-Lago two weeks ago to discuss Trump’s threat of imposing a 25% tariff on Canadian imports, Trump reportedly made a joke that if Canada were economically impacted by these tariffs, “maybe Canada should become the 51st state of America.”

In an interview with NBC on Sunday, Trump said:

“We support Canada by over $100 billion a year, and we support Mexico by around $300 billion. Why do we do that? If we’re going to support them, let them become a state.”

For his part, Trudeau confirmed this week that Canada “will respond” if the United States proceeds with imposing tariffs, and the federal government announced it would bolster human resources and equipment at the border to confront the threats.
