Israeli media reported that the Tel Aviv police chief Amichai Eshed is expected to announce his resignation due to being removed from the position, and Eshed is expected to make a statement to the media this evening, Wednesday.
For his part, Eshed confirmed that his dismissal decision was "politically motivated" because of his refusal to take a stricter stance against protesters against the government.
The police chief has faced widespread criticism, the latest of which came from National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, due to his alleged handling of protests against the comprehensive reform.
