Costco stores are known for having a general return policy for products, where you can return most products and get a full refund.
Electronics including TVs, computers, and cameras can be returned within 90 days for a full refund, but Costco does not have a return policy for the following products according to GOBankRates:
Sanitizing wipes:
Costco stores do not allow the return of sanitizing wipes due to contamination concerns, so you can find something to disinfect with them.
Cigarettes:
Returning cigarettes is against the store policy at Costco and is also prohibited by law in many US states.
Tires:
Tires may seem like a reasonable item you can return, but they are very similar to shoes because slight use can cause damage.
Toilet paper and paper towels:
Since people buy these items in large quantities, they might think they can return unused parts. Unfortunately, Costco does not allow returns of these products, and if you have a lot of them, donate them to a shelter or school instead.
Rice:
Costco does not accept returned rice to avoid issues that come with products that may spill from bags.
Batteries:
Costco prohibits the return of all types of batteries to avoid the risk of explosion, so Finance Buzz urges customers to purchase special product warranties to cover problems that may occur when using batteries.
Spoiled food:
A study by Cheapism revealed that customers tried multiple times to return spoiled food to Costco stores, and the study stated that the spoiled food they tried to return was not spoiled at the time of purchase, but food that was left to rot at home, such as old rotten salmon and bags of rotten oranges.
Soap:
Costco does not care if you liked the soap you bought from its stores; if you bought it, you must keep it as they will not accept its return.
Items purchased a long time ago:
Costco allows customers to return some products after 90 days of purchase, but it will not accept returns of items purchased many years ago like rusty machines.
Diamonds over one carat:
Although Costco allows the return of jewelry within 90 days if it is in good condition, it will not allow the return of diamonds over one carat unless all the papers that came with it are available.
You will also only get store credit, and will not get your full money back according to Finance Buzz.
