The Canadian Ministry of Environment has expanded heat warnings in several provinces, as unusually hot conditions continue across the country at this time of year.

The warning issued by the National Weather Agency covers large areas of southern Ontario, Nova Scotia, Alberta, and British Columbia.

The Canadian Ministry of Environment stated that maximum temperatures are expected to reach or exceed 30 degrees Celsius and reach the highest level in the forties when accompanied by humidity.

Temperatures are expected to return to more moderate levels on Monday night or Tuesday in most areas.

However, scorching heat is expected to return to parts of Alberta on Wednesday.

Heat warnings are issued when very high temperatures or humid conditions are expected to increase the risk of heat-related illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
