The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned, on Sunday, Deepak Mittal, the Ambassador of the Republic of India, and handed him an official memorandum expressing the State of Qatar's disappointment, complete rejection, and condemnation of the statements made by an official in the ruling party of India, against the Prophet Muhammad, Islam, and Muslims, according to the ministry’s official Twitter account.
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that it welcomes the statement issued by the ruling party in India, which announced the suspension of the official from his activities within the party due to his statements "which aroused the anger of Muslims around the world," but it affirmed in the protest memorandum its "expectation of a public apology and immediate condemnation of these statements by the Indian government."
It pointed out that allowing such anti-Islam statements to continue without punishment poses a serious danger to the protection of human rights and may lead to further bias and marginalization, which will result in a cycle of violence and hatred.
