With the approach of winter, snow falls in Calgary early on Saturday morning, which caused power outages in some neighborhoods. Enmax worked to restore power to homes in Upper Mount Royal, Bankview, Sunalta, Scarboro, Braeside, and Cedarbrae.
This was one of the consequences of the snowfall. Snow covered the city of Calgary. Traffic signals were out of coverage on Bow Trail and Sarcee Trail S.W. Lights were flashing red at Memorial Drive and 7 Street N.W, in addition to smooth sliding on the roads.
Chris Hewitt said: "We have our crews taking care of the work." "We have about 50 plows capable of clearing roads, and we will have 50 roads tonight. The roads were cleaned early Saturday morning.
The first and second priorities are Glenmore and Crowchild roads - main roads and bus routes - all look good. This does not mean they are as safe as they were before the snowfall.
Hewitt advised drivers to reduce speed and be cautious of disruption points at intersections, on hills, slopes, and bridge decks.
According to a statement issued by the city, up to 15 cm of snow fell overnight in parts of Calgary, with more snowfall expected throughout the afternoon and evening.
Environment Canada forecasts: It expects 2 cm of snow in Calgary on Saturday and a warning of heavier snowfall.
The Canadian Ministry of Environment issued a snow warning for parts of southern Alberta, including Lethbridge. It said rain would turn to snow, with 10-15 cm expected by Sunday. Citizens were warned to be cautious of the snowfall.
