Hurricane "Fiona" struck the Atlantic coast of Canada, leaving behind a lot of destruction, while electricity was cut off to hundreds of thousands of people.
The island of "Cape Breton," with a population of 132,000, declared a state of emergency, roads were closed due to fallen trees, and many areas were without electricity.
Parts of "Nova Scotia," "Prince Edward Island," and the province of "New Brunswick" are experiencing heavy rainfall and winds reaching speeds of up to 150 km/h.
Canadian media reported: "82,000 remained without electricity as of 8:30 AM local time in the province of Prince Edward Island."
In "Port aux Basques," a town located on the southwestern tip with a population of 4,000, emergency evacuations were underway as storms swept away many homes.
Hurricane "Fiona" is expected to weaken somewhat during the day but will remain full of strong winds and heavy rains, and will move to the province of Quebec.
