The Canadian national team held its first training session yesterday, Sunday, in New Jersey in preparation for its anticipated semifinal match in the Copa America, hosted by the United States, against Argentina early next Wednesday at (MetLife Stadium).
The Canadian team arrived in New Jersey on Saturday evening from Texas, where they had their first training session in the city on Sunday morning at a private school field in the Basking Ridge area, located about 60 km southwest of (MetLife Stadium), which will host the match.
During the open segment for the media, the players conducted some ball drills.
American Jesse Marsch, Canada's coach, emphasized the need for smooth and quick ball circulation among the players.
In their first participation in the tournament, the Canadian team impressed everyone and reached the semifinals after eliminating Venezuela in the quarterfinals by penalties (4-3), following a tie at the end of regular and extra time (1-1).
The two teams had previously met in the group stage, where the defending champion succeeded in securing the match with a clean two-goal victory.
