The joint military exercises between South Korea and the United States are scheduled to begin tomorrow, Monday, to enhance the joint defense posture against North Korean nuclear and missile threats.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff stated today, Sunday, that the exercises will take place for 11 days, from tomorrow, Monday, until the 29th of the same month, according to the South Korean radio network "KBS World" today, Sunday.
The agency added that the joint exercises will focus on responding to North Korean weapons of mass destruction and utilizing various assets to bolster the allies' joint defensive readiness and response capabilities.
The allies intend to conduct a total of 48 joint field training exercises during the drills, an increase of ten exercises from 38 last year.
In particular, the military plans to participate in the first-ever government training that simulates a North Korean nuclear attack.
During the training, the army, navy, and air force intend to conduct field exercises, in addition to the joint exercises with the United States, including live-fire drills.
