The brown fedora hat worn by American actor Harrison Ford in the second installment of the Indiana Jones film series was sold for $630,000 at a public auction, according to an announcement by Propstor on Friday.
The hat worn in 1984's "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" was expected to fetch between $250,000 and $500,000, according to the online item description.
A Propstor expert noted in the online description, "Keeping the fedora hat in place during filming was a 'constant challenge'."
It was manufactured by Herbert Johnson Hat Company in London and is made from sable-colored rabbit fur.
Other items sold at the auction include the "Scout Trooper" helmet from the 1983 "Return of the Jedi," which sold for $315,000, and the ghost costumes worn by the stars in the 1996 film "Scream," which were sold for $270,900.
