The British Ministry of Defense stated that a Ukrainian drone attack on a Russian ferry deepens Moscow's logistical problems in its war efforts.

The ministry added in its latest update today, Friday, that on July 23, Ukrainian forces inflicted damage on the ferry Slavyanin at the Russian port of Kavkaz, which is likely to "cause Russia further logistical problems in supplying its occupied forces in southern Ukraine and the export of liquefied oil gas at the regional level."

It is noted that the ferry Slavyanin was the largest capacity among the three ferries operating in the Kerch Strait between Russia and the Crimean Peninsula.

It is also the only one that remained in service after the other two ferries were damaged due to Ukrainian missile strikes.

The British Ministry of Defense clarified that Slavyanin was likely transporting liquefied oil gas through the port of Kerch.

It is pointed out that removing ferries from operational status, even temporarily, is likely to cost Russia more and also limit its flexibility in transporting fuel, ammunition, and equipment across the Kerch Strait.
