A report by the American news network "CNN" in collaboration with the American Institute for the Study of War stated that nearly half of the Al-Qassam Brigades - the military wing of the Palestinian "Hamas" movement - have rebuilt some of their combat capabilities despite more than 9 months since the Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip.
The report cited American military experts saying that Israel's method of warfare, characterized by a harsh bombing campaign and a lack of a post-war plan, has helped incentivize the Hamas movement to emerge again.
An Israeli senior officer told the network that the army will enter anywhere Hamas raises its head - as he put it - but he doubted the sustainability of this game forever.
A senior retired Israeli officer stated that the movement began a recruitment process 3 or 4 months ago, which included a few thousand, noting that the biggest difficulty facing Hamas is not at the level of fighters, but at the level of leaders, some of whom are not easily replaceable, according to him.
Moreover, CNN mentioned that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's assertion that victory over Hamas is near is contradicted by the realities on the ground, according to an analysis of the ongoing military operations, captured images, and interviews with experts and eyewitnesses.
The American newspaper The New York Times reported that analysts indicated the recent strikes against Hamas, including the assassination of its political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in the capital Tehran, may be a short-term setback for the movement, but it is insufficient to prevent it from re-emerging.
