Algeria announces the death of an Algerian student in the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv

The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the death of an Algerian student in the city of Kharkiv, Ukraine, without mentioning the cause.

In a statement, the Ministry expressed its deep regret for the death of an Algerian national in the city of Kharkiv on February 26, 2022 (yesterday, Sunday), explaining that "its diplomatic services are working hard, within available means, to transfer the deceased's body back to the homeland."

The statement added: "The Ministry renews its call to members of the national community in this country to exercise the utmost caution and fully adhere to the security and safety directives and guidelines in effect, and to stay in constant contact with our embassy in Kyiv as well as with our diplomatic missions in Warsaw and Bucharest for those who have crossed the Ukrainian borders towards Poland and Romania."

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continued in its statement: "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad affirms the Algerian authorities' commitment to working, in these difficult circumstances, to organize evacuation operations to Algeria and calls on all concerned citizens to communicate with the Algerian embassies in Warsaw and Bucharest via the known phone numbers and email addresses.
