The York Regional Police have charged a man from Toronto after a quadruple shooting at a home in Vaughan that resulted in the death of a 40-year-old woman and a 2-year-old boy, and injured two others.

The police confirmed that Van Viet Dong, 41, from Toronto is facing two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder.

The deceased individuals have been identified as Thi Trang Du, 40, and 2-year-old Marcus Vu, and the condition of the other two victims is stable.

Officers were called to the home on Casa Nova Drive in the Woodbridge area of the city the previous Friday, June 21, at around 8:52 AM and found the four victims inside the house suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police said in a statement yesterday, Saturday, “It is believed that the accused is known to the victims and that the incident is targeted.”

The double homicide on Friday came days after a woman was shot in a parking lot in Vaughan Mills. Since then, two men have been arrested and charged.
