The Israeli occupying army withdrew today, Friday, from the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza after a military operation that lasted 22 days, leaving behind widespread destruction and bodies in the streets and under the rubble of homes.
The Anadolu Agency reported that the occupying forces retreated from the areas where they had been penetrating to the eastern outskirts of the city after a wide military operation launched there 22 days ago, noting that citizens were able to retrieve the bodies of 10 Palestinians who were martyred during the military operation of the occupying army.
Medical teams and civil defense arrived in the areas from which the army withdrew to search for victims under the rubble and in the streets.
According to eyewitnesses, the withdrawal of the Israeli forces from Khan Younis revealed massive destruction in hundreds of residential buildings and homes as well as in the infrastructure of the roads due to the shelling and bulldozing operations.
For its part, Al Jazeera Network reported that ambulance crews retrieved the bodies of 9 martyrs in scattered areas east of Khan Younis.
