Toronto police announced that a man is facing a first-degree murder charge in connection with a stabbing incident in a residential building in North York that occurred last Friday.
The police responded to the stabbing incident in a residential building near Sheppard Weston Road
Avenue West
When police arrived at the scene, they said they found a man suffering from stab wounds just outside the building, and the victim, who was identified yesterday, Saturday, as 32-year-old Dimitri Smith, was transported to the hospital but died shortly after.
The police found one of the suspects at the scene with a knife and arrested him.
In a statement issued yesterday, Saturday, the police identified the suspect as 46-year-old Dean Joel Constance, who is charged with first-degree murder.
Investigators believe that Smith and Constance knew each other, describing it as a "targeted incident."
It is also believed that the two men were involved in a dispute inside the building before the stabbing incident.
The police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact them at 416-808-7400 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
