Several roads have been closed following a serious collision between two cars in The Glebe this Wednesday afternoon.

Ottawa fire services responded to a call from the police at around 2:10 PM at the intersection of Metcalfe and Isabella Streets near Highway 417, where a white pickup truck collided with a gray sedan, causing the car to overturn onto its roof.

Traffic cameras in Ottawa show heavy traffic on Isabella Street heading west and Metcalfe Street heading north near the area.

Ottawa paramedics reported that one person was transported to the hospital in stable condition with injuries that are not life-threatening, while another person was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Metcalfe Road is closed between Isabella and Catherine. Isabella was briefly closed at O'Connor but has since been reopened.

Police are urging the public to avoid the area.
