Two of the five former players from Canada's junior hockey team awaiting trial on charges of alleged gang sexual assault in 2018 have signed contracts with teams in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), according to the league.

Dylan Dubé has been listed on the roster of Dinamo Minsk, based in Belarus, under a contract until May 31, 2025, while Kazakh-based Astana Pari announced on Friday that Michael McLeod has signed a one-year contract with the team.

Dubé, McLeod, Carter Hart, Cal Foote, and Alex Formenton were charged earlier this year in connection with the alleged sexual assault in a hotel in London, Ontario, in 2018.

All five have been charged with sexual assault, although McLeod also faces an additional charge of sexual assault for being "a party to the crime."

The case is set to return to court on August 13 for a potential trial date.

McLeod, from Mississauga, Ontario, played with the New Jersey Devils last season, while Dubé, from Golden, British Columbia, played with the Calgary Flames. Both were on leave in January and their contracts expired at the end of the season.
