Gianni Infantino, the president of FIFA, announced that Inter Miami will participate in the World Club Cup next summer.

The FIFA president also confirmed that the opening match of the tournament will be in Miami, at Hard Rock Stadium.

According to the Spanish newspaper "Marca," Infantino decided to invite the team of Argentine star Lionel Messi to participate, because it is "the best team in the American league."

Thus, Inter Miami is the team that received the qualification spot from the host country for the tournament, which will take place next year from June 15 to July 13.

The official announcement came after another outstanding performance by Messi, the star player in Inter Miami's 6-2 victory over New England Revolution.

The Argentine star appeared on the field in the 57th minute, and he had time to score 3 goals and provide an assist.

Messi's team was two goals behind, and Luis Suarez's efforts helped equalize the score, giving this victory a record number for Inter Miami, reaching 74 points, the highest in a regular season in the American league.

With Lionel Messi's team confirmed to participate, 31 teams have already qualified for the World Club Cup, with only the spot for the champion of the 2024 Copa Libertadores remaining.
