The Montreal Olympic Stadium will get a new roof, with the iconic structure and the technical ring being replaced at a cost of $870 million and expected to be completed by 2027.
This was announced by ministers Caroline Proulx and Chantal Rouleau at a press conference in Montreal on Monday morning, alongside the president and CEO of Parc Olympique, Michel Labrecque.
The new roof will be installed and will feature a transparent strip along with a glass skylight, and the roof budget is divided as follows:
. Dismantling the old roof: 18%
. Building the technical ring: 12%
Assembling and installing the new roof: 69%, and the new roof is expected to last for 50 years.
