The Telegraph newspaper revealed that English Chelsea legend Frank Lampard is on the list of candidates to coach the Canadian national team, which is hosting the 2026 World Cup in partnership with the United States and Mexico.
The Canadian team has been without a permanent coach since the Englishman John Herdman submitted his resignation last summer to coach Toronto, and Mauro Biello took the position as interim coach, but the Football Association is looking for a young coach to lead the players, and Lampard is suitable, as he played in North America for one year before retiring.
It is noteworthy that Lampard is considered one of the best midfielders in the world during his life before his football retirement.
