The newly elected reformist Iranian President Masoud Beizhkian considered that "the presidential elections are the beginning of a path that can only be traversed with the trust and cooperation of the Iranian people."
He wrote in a post on his official page on the "X" platform on Saturday morning: "The elections are over, and this is the beginning of our path together. We face a difficult road, which can only be crossed with your empathy, trust, and cooperation. I extend my hand to you, and I will not abandon you, and I also ask you to be by my side."
The Iranian Ministry of Interior announced on Saturday morning the victory of reformist Masoud Beizhkian in the second round of the presidential elections over his rival, former member of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, hardliner Saeed Jalili.
In his first statement after winning the presidential elections, Masoud Beizhkian said: "We extend a hand of friendship to all, and we are all children of this country."
The Elections Committee in the Ministry of Interior reported that the total votes counted reached 30,530,157, of which Beizhkian received 16,384,403 votes, while Jalili received 13,538,179 votes, according to the official IRNA news agency.
According to official Iranian data, the voter turnout in the elections was 49.8%, which is higher than that of the first round of the race.
