Iranian-backed Iraqi armed factions announced today, Wednesday, the launch of a drone towards a target in Israel.
What calls itself "the Islamic Resistance in Iraq" stated in a statement that it launched "a drone towards a vital target in northern Israel".
They emphasized in their statement that they will continue their operations against Israel at an escalating pace.
Iranian-backed Iraqi armed factions, including Hezbollah Brigades, Sayyid al-Shuhada Brigades, and Al-Nujaba Movement, form what is known as "the Islamic Resistance in Iraq".
In recent months, this formation announced the launch of drone attacks on targets in Israel in the context of the war in Gaza.
Since April, Israel has confirmed the occurrence of several airstrikes from the east, without pointing fingers at a specific entity, and has stated multiple times that it intercepted drones outside of its airspace.
Some factions have also carried out dozens of attacks against U.S. forces stationed in Iraq and Syria as part of the international coalition against ISIS.
