In spring, some parts of Canada may witness a return of winter, while other areas prepare for severe thunderstorms, according to local forecasts.
The severe thunderstorms that swept through Ontario, Quebec, and parts of the United States on Monday moved eastward, according to CTV Your Morning meteorologist Kelsey McEwen.
With the northeastern United States getting its share of thunder and lightning, the maritime provinces along the border can expect heavy rain and severe thunderstorms on Tuesday morning, followed by strong winds later in the day.
Destructive winds of up to 100 km/h are expected to blow over Cape Breton, New South Wales, and southwestern Newfoundland and Labrador.
Residents of northern Quebec may need to pull out their warm jackets, as winter weather conditions are expected along the border with Labrador.
McEwen stated that a special weather alert indicates the storm may bring 15 cm of snow. A frost warning is in effect in eastern Quebec in areas including Val-d'Or, La Sarre, and Ville-Marie.
In the west, an air quality alert has been issued for northeastern British Columbia. It is likely to be in effect for the next 24 to 48 hours.
McEwen noted that Saskatchewan is likely to experience a severe storm on Wednesday.
