A person was injured in a shooting incident in downtown Toronto yesterday morning, Monday.

Toronto police announced that they received a report of a shooting in a residential area near Bayview Avenue Pottery Road at around 8:08 AM.

They added that a person was taken to the hospital with injuries, and paramedics say he was seriously wounded.

According to reports, one of the suspects was seen fleeing the area in a blue SUV.

Residents of the area also said they heard several gunshots yesterday morning, Monday, and a resident said she heard about 10 gunshots.

Few other details have been revealed so far, and the Toronto police forensic unit is at the scene.

The police asked residents of True Park Crescent Davidson Drive to take shelter in place amid the search of the area.
