Many pro-Palestine demonstrators took to the streets of Canada this Wednesday morning to denounce the unprecedented and ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza since October 7, which has resulted in tens of thousands of martyrs and injured among unarmed civilians, most of whom are children and women.
Furthermore, hundreds of citizens organized a sit-in in front of an arms exhibition south of the Canadian capital Ottawa, near the airport area, to call for a halt to arms exports to Israel and to demand a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
The police intervened after protesters blocked a main street leading to the exhibition site and arrested a number of demonstrators, prompting them to go to the police station in the city center and demand the immediate release of the protesters.
Several detainees were released while others remained in custody.
Additionally, dozens of police officers were summoned to confront the angry protesters who were demanding the release of those who had been arrested.
It is worth mentioning that the Canadian capital continues to witness many ongoing protests calling for an immediate permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
