Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Bart Eide said today, Friday, that the Israeli government's decision to stop the operation of his country's representative office in Palestine means that Tel Aviv "does not support the idea of a two-state solution," calling on the world to confirm that there is no alternative to it.
Minister Eide said in press statements: "We had to temporarily close our office."
He added: "We understand the Israeli behavior that the government does not support the idea of a two-state solution and wants to undermine our efforts to reach this solution, but we will continue our efforts to achieve it, as there is no effective alternative."
He continued: "Israel's actions against us are due to our support for Palestine, especially in international courts," describing the Israeli step as extreme.
He emphasized that "the world must be clear and confirm that there is no effective alternative except for the two-state solution."
