Two rockets were fired from Lebanon this morning (Tuesday) into several cities and towns in northern Israel, starting from Caesarea to Haifa, and from the Gulf region to the interior.

According to the military spokesman, between 7:24 and 7:27 local time, the launch of two rockets from Lebanon was detected and successfully intercepted by the air force.

Although it was limited to only two rockets, tens of thousands of citizens in the north had to run to safe areas during the time of preparation for work or school.

The reason behind activating many alerts:

Military analyst Noam Amir explains that this expansion of alerts resulted from an investigation conducted by the air force after a deadly incident at the Golani Brigade training base two days ago, where two drones from Lebanon breached Israeli airspace, one was intercepted while the other disappeared from radar before suddenly reappearing over the Golani training base near Binyamina, where it exploded over the dining room, resulting in the death of four soldiers aged 19, and injuring dozens more, including eight with serious injuries.

Changing the alert policy:

Based on the investigation results, the air force decided to expand the scope of alerts in any area subjected to rocket or drone launches, in order to avoid risks. The military analyst explained, "From now on, many alerts will be issued in areas that are under attack, even if it means issuing false alerts."

Air force explanation:

"We are now in a full defensive posture. Even if we lose contact with a drone for half an hour, we will take the matter very seriously."

Alerts are expected to widely recur in the coming days, with the possibility that some of them may be false alerts.
