The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Jordan, Ayman Safadi, warned about what is happening in northern Gaza, as not a single aid truck has entered northern Gaza since a month and a half ago.

Safadi stated in a press conference on the sidelines of the Future of Palestine conference held in Turkey on Tuesday that the occupation seeks to empty northern Gaza of its residents by targeting hospitals and using starvation as a weapon against civilians.

He explained that stopping the aggression on Gaza and allowing humanitarian aid into Gaza is a top priority now.

Safadi added, "Today, the situation in Gaza is worse than it was in the past, and Israel wants to make Gaza an uninhabitable area to displace its people."

He continued, "What Israel has done over the past year has destroyed the infrastructure in Gaza and made the area unlivable, adding, 'We demand that the world assume its responsibilities by stopping the aggression against the Palestinian people and obliging Israel to allow aid into Gaza and enforcing peace, and the world realizes that the two-state solution is the only way to achieve peace and the Israeli government is preventing that now.'

He warned against Israeli assaults on Islamic holy sites in occupied Jerusalem.

He indicated that the Jordanian monarch King Abdullah II, son of Hussein, is the custodian of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, and we are continuously monitoring the situation there. There is a systematic Israeli policy to alter the historical and legal status of the holy sites and change the Arab Islamic and Christian identity, which is a red line for Jordan, Arabs, and Muslims.

Regarding Lebanon, Safadi said that Israel has displaced 1.2 million Lebanese from their homes and areas of residence.

Safadi said that the Security Council is not fulfilling its role in maintaining peace and security in Gaza or Lebanon, adding that the Israeli government only speaks the language of war and destruction.

He continued, "Our message to the world is that if the extremist ideologies that kill children and women, destroy life facilities, and deprive them of food and medicine are not put to an end, we are facing a serious escalation in the entire region."

For his part, the Turkish Foreign Minister considered that "an immediate ceasefire and the two-state solution are the guarantors of peace in the region."

It is noteworthy that the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights on Tuesday stated that the Israeli army appears to be "completely isolating northern Gaza from the rest of the sector."
