Canada is experiencing severe fluctuations in the weather, which has led to rising temperatures, and weather experts predict that this summer will be a harsh and muggy one in Ontario, according to new forecasts predicting hot and humid conditions expected to sweep the region for most of the upcoming season.

The annual summer forecasts from the Weather Network painted a sunny picture for the province, a picture that contrasts with the weather patterns seen in previous years.

The summer forecasts for Ontario called for “hot and humid” conditions covering most of the province, including the Greater Toronto Area.

Extended heat waves could cover the area, with the Weather Network specifically mentioning southwestern Ontario, including Windsor and London.

The Weather Network warned that “temperatures will build up during July and August and persist into September.”

This heat will include bouts of dry weather that have the potential to fuel wildfires across the province, especially in the dense forest areas of northern Ontario.

This smoke is expected to affect conditions across the province and create a risk of smog in major urban centers like Toronto.
