Warnings of thunderstorms and rainfall in Ottawa

The warning and watch for severe thunderstorms that was in effect in Ottawa and Gatineau has been lifted following the emergence of unstable weather conditions across the region today, Sunday.

The Canadian Environmental Agency lifted the warning for severe thunderstorms this morning, Sunday, in the Canadian capital.

Rain is expected to continue throughout the night with a possibility of thunderstorms.

Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when a storm is occurring or imminent, while watches are issued when conditions are favorable for the development of thunderstorms.

Forecasts from the Canadian Environmental Agency indicate a temperature rise to 26 degrees Celsius – humidity at 34 – and a 60 percent chance of rain today.

The temperature is expected to reach 17 degrees Celsius tonight.

The weather will also be mainly cloudy with a 60 percent chance of rain - risk of a thunderstorm this evening and after midnight.

It is expected that the weather throughout the day on Sunday will be mainly cloudy, with a 30 percent chance of rain.
