The show at Ottawa Bluesfest is scheduled to continue tonight and throughout the week, despite the expected heavy rainfall.

The Canadian Ministry of Environment issued a special weather statement for Ottawa, forecasting rain between 25 to 50 mm from today until Friday as the remnants of Hurricane Burrell move through the area. It is expected that starting from 2 PM, the rainfall in the city of Ottawa will range between 10 to 15 mm.

Joe Riley, a spokesperson for Ottawa Bluesfest, told Newstalk 580 CFRA's Ottawa at Work with Patricia Boal: "We are monitoring the weather and we are always aware of it," and the weather is always changing.

The Ottawa Bluesfest lineup yesterday included the Zac Brown Band, Charlie Crockett, Matthew Good, and Texas King.

Riley says that Bluesfest has its own weather service, "which we communicate with constantly throughout the day."

Riley said, "We have our service; they monitor one square kilometer of land in LeBreton Flats for us and give us very accurate measurements of what is happening or about to happen based on airflow."

He noted that Bluesfest has an emergency preparedness plan, which includes evacuation details if necessary.

Riley acknowledges that it is difficult to know how the weather will be eight hours before showtime, but the show will go on.

Riley stated, "Our full intention is for the production to continue tonight and throughout the week." "We are playing it by ear through the conversation with our weather service."

He added that today's lineup includes Josh Ross, Alexa Goldie, The Offspring, and Silverstein.
