The Regional Health Authority in Winnipeg sent a message to parents at Monroe Early Childhood Education Center to inform them of a confirmed case of COVID-19.
The infected person was at Chalmers Avenue Nursery on September 14.
The Health Authority said that Monroe Early Childhood Education Center is working closely with public health officials and following their recommendations.
Upon learning of the case, the facility immediately closed the areas used by the infected person and will not use them until after cleaning and disinfection.
According to the Health Authority, all contacts in the same room as the case were identified and advised to self-isolate. Public health will contact any other close contacts of the case.
Parents are asked to monitor their children for COVID-19 symptoms and isolate them at any sign of illness.
The center will remain open to all other children and staff, who can continue to attend the center in person.
