Fire teams in Toronto rescued two people from a fire that broke out in a low-rise residential building in downtown east early Wednesday morning.
The fire teams said the fire is under control and rescued the occupants of the upper unit using a ladder. The building is located on Sherbourne Street north of Carlton Street.
Two cats were also rescued as part of the operation, and the firefighters said there are currently no injuries.
TFS added that cleanup operations are ongoing and TTC shelter buses are on site to assist those affected.
