Ontario Police have asked for citizens' help after a body was found in the backyard of a house along the shore of Lake Ontario in Mississauga on Monday.
The police said that a resident near Richey contacted them after seeing someone in the water west of Cooksville Creek Crescent
The Peel Regional Police (PRP) also confirmed they were called to the area just before noon and found an adult in the backyard of a nearby residence, and the Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services declared the person deceased at the scene.
The body had not been at the location for very long," and the police believe it was there for 24 to 48 hours.
The police are currently working to identify the victim and notify relatives, and they are coordinating with other police departments in the area to see if the victim matches any missing persons reports or anything of that sort.
They asked anyone with any information to urgently contact the Criminal Investigations Office in Division 12 .
