Egypt celebrates 70 years of relations with Canada

Ambassador Dr. Sameh Abu El-Enein, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for American Affairs, organized an event at the Egyptian Diplomatic Club to celebrate 70 years of Egyptian-Canadian relations, which witnessed the farewell of the Canadian Ambassador in Cairo, attended by a group of officials, parliamentarians, and Egyptian and Canadian businessmen.

The Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for American Affairs addressed the development of Egyptian-Canadian relations during the event, reviewing the various aspects of cooperation in economic, political, commercial, educational, and cultural fields, expressing our aspiration to enhance cooperation in these areas for the mutual benefit of both countries.

The attendees discussed promising Canadian investment opportunities in Egypt, ways to develop joint cooperation in the educational and cultural fields, prospects for political and economic cooperation between the two countries, the role of the Egyptian community in Canada in strengthening community ties between the two peoples and its positive contributions to Canadian society, Canadian participation in the Multinational Force in Sinai, and support for parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, in addition to reviewing the Egyptian nomination for UNESCO and tourism cooperation between the two countries.

The Canadian ambassador expressed his gratitude for the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in promoting joint cooperation files between the two countries, appreciating the depth of Egyptian-Canadian relations and their diversity in various fields.
