An Israeli newspaper revealed today, Saturday, that the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is facing a new issue related to his request to stop the army's recording of "War Council" meetings before its dissolution, which represents a change to the protocols approved during meetings and secret consultations.

The newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" reported that Netanyahu's office is facing a growing crisis related to several issues currently under investigation.

At the beginning of the aggression against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, the War Council meetings were held at the Ministry of Defense headquarters in Tel Aviv, and the army was responsible for recording those meetings. Although the Israeli army considered recording the sessions during the war essential, Netanyahu's office issued instructions to stop these recordings, leading to a change in the protocols followed in secret meetings.

Netanyahu had formed the "War Council" after the attack on Gaza in October, which included Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant, former Defense Minister Benny Gantz, former Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot, in addition to Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer. However, on June 17, 2023, Netanyahu announced the dissolution of the council following the resignation of Gantz and Eisenkot from it.

On another hand, a report from Channel 12 revealed an investigation into allegations of extorting officials in Netanyahu's office from an army officer using "sensitive video," aimed at changing the records of October 7, 2023. The report indicated that the National Security Council of Netanyahu's office received a warning on the eve of the attack regarding unusual activity from Hamas.

It also became clear that the investigations relate to essential matters that should be at the core of the official investigation committee that has yet to be formed, especially concerning the events preceding October 7 and during the war.

In another case, Netanyahu is facing an investigation related to forging protocols in his office, and investigations are unfolding regarding the "Senwar documents," which reveal security leaks concerning sensitive intelligence information obtained illegally from the Israeli military.

Media reports have published leaked military documents, some of which relate to negotiations regarding the smuggling of Israeli captives from Gaza to Egypt, but investigations showed that some documents were forged or prepared by activists in Hamas.
