The Devil and the Victim .. A Painful Story in Exile!

Without a doubt, we are living dark days in this sensitive phase filled with the scent of death and the blood of our people in the beloved Gaza Strip, as a result of the barbaric aggressive war that targeted their hopes, dreams, future, and even their lives. This requires shedding light on this matter as I am a Palestinian from the sons of the mourned Gaza Strip, destroyed by the brutal occupation war machine that destroyed humans, stones, and trees.
Despite our urgent need to express this matter and the resulting pain and suffering of the families of the martyrs among Canadian Palestinians who live in great sorrow over the loss of their loved ones due to this barbaric war, I find that there are other parallel wars, most of which are unethical and do not adhere to moral standards, given the double standards in dealing with the life and dignity of the Palestinian human being. We found many official positions from several countries, including Canada, shockingly biased in favor of the aggressor at the expense of the victim, which created great questioning about the goals of this dirty war against Gaza and its people and what is required to be achieved after all this destruction and barbaric killing operations under the silence and official support of governments that claim to be democratic and adopt achieving justice and preserving human dignity, but they have fallen when they stripped themselves of their humanity and blatantly sided with all these inhumane violations committed against the innocent defenseless Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, to the point that one nearly loses their mind whenever trying to understand the reality of these unethical stances that have overturned the human values and foundations upon which these democracies that attract immigrants were built, thinking they would live in paradise under a flag they cherish and an identity to which they belong, but they are surprised that decision-makers cause it to evaporate due to their double and unfair standards when they touch the prestige of this flag by siding with another flag as if it is the official flag of this or that state. Moreover, there is the irresponsible moral submission in front of the killing of children, the destruction of houses and infrastructure, and even important service facilities like hospitals and schools were not spared from brutal targeting without any humanitarian or moral justification but rather with clear evidence that it contradicts international humanitarian law.
Yet, we still hold hope that there is a chance to reconcile with oneself to take fair and moral positions that side with the truth and support it until justice is achieved that serves humanity and cuts off the road to extremism and feeds terrorism.
Today, due to the official state policy, we live a great disappointment that shattered our faith that we live in a great state that seeks to achieve justice and struck down our ability to defend the necessity of belonging to our identity which we carry.
What affects us today is a state of shock that filled our hearts with anger at these double standards with a bad implication that there is hypocrisy that overturned all the values we believed in and came for.
What affects us today is a deep wound due to shaky policies we thought for years were moderate and balanced, but unfortunately, in the first real test, confirmed that our dreams were fragile and that we were deceived by empty slogans.
What affects us today is a real earthquake that shook our confidence in ourselves and the existing system that surprised us with a picture opposite to what we had built in our imagination about a balanced system dealing with events with a policy based on the principle of achieving justice and fairness between humans.
This system was supposed to protect us and not flog us or strike our stability with intrusive shocks to our thoughts and feelings, which makes us among those who have lost confidence in the entire existing situation when we become certain that we are cheap tools and transient electoral numbers used only when necessary and not influential people with value and dignity!
The pens have been lifted, the newspapers dried up, and we no longer have anything to believe in, except that we rise and know our worth to say that we stand with those who value us and know how and when to punish those who despise our feelings or side against our pains and sufferings.
This takes us to the story of the devil and the victim in the diaspora, where matters do not stop at these shocking stances only, but take us further when we find among us, as sons of Palestinian and Arab communities in the diaspora, those who stab us while sitting in their homes enjoying our pains and sufferings, and even go beyond that.
Here we stand bewildered and wonder how can we demand others to stand by us and triumph for our causes, while there are those from our own flesh who flog us by belittling our homeland's ordeal and despising the blood of our children, women, and elders?!
How can we not when we find many of us in the diaspora crying crocodile tears during the day, and at night we receive poisonous arrows from them that contradict the idea of belonging to the homeland and identity in whole, and our national culture says that these behaviors are nothing but a kind of espionage and inferiority, so they are poisoned daggers in the ribs of the cause and identity.
In the end, the devil remains free and the victim captive, and the daggers of treachery continue, or perhaps it is protected, and the question is whether the masks have fallen and it has become clear to us that we live in a nightmare and not in a beautiful dream as we believed, and that the story does not bear many interpretations but is programmed and detailed to strike our confidence in our values, morals, and religion fatally, and that the stake is big and the choice was costly, and the end is painful whether it is something tangible or there is a loss of trust in laws and policies that are disappointing and shocking to generations, and that ignorance has lost a lot and there is no solace for a victim who chose the path of darkness to become the devil and for the devil to become the victim!.
