A man from Calgary died on Saturday while fighting an active fire northeast of Jasper.
At around 2:15 PM, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Alberta received a report of a serious injury sustained by a staff member of Alberta's forestry fire department due to a tree fall.
The 24-year-old man was transported by STARS to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries.
The man was a resident of Calgary and was based at the Rocky Mountain House fire base.
