A 13-year-old French tourist died after colliding with a tree while riding a dog sled northwest of Montreal.
The Quebec Provincial Police said they responded to the St-Michel-des-Saints incident before noon on Monday about 130 kilometers from Montreal in the Lanaudiere area.
For his part, Sergeant Frédéric Deschaises said the initial investigation indicates that the teenager was riding a dog sled and collided with a tree after the driver lost control
.
The police also stated that the boy was a French citizen who came to Quebec with his family on vacation.
He was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
The police said the investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances of the accident.
