Toronto Police announced that the suspect was arrested after a woman was repeatedly kicked and struck in the head with an object near Don Mills station last Saturday
She added that they responded to the incident in the DonSheppard Avenueg Mills Road area due to an unknown issue around 12:30 PM.
According to the police, a woman was walking with her children from Don Mills station when a man made a comment directed at her children, prompting the woman to respond.
Investigators also said the man kicked her before grabbing an unknown object and hitting her in the head several times, causing the woman to fall and break her phone.
The police also alleged that the man threatened to kill her before fleeing, and the woman was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The police said the suspect, identified as Suresh Nethiananthan, 43, from Toronto, is now charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, assault, and mischief under $5000.
The news of the arrest comes after the police released an image from a surveillance camera of the suspect in the case over the weekend.
