The national teams of Canada and Costa Rica officially qualified for the Copa America 2024 following their successful passage through the decisive qualifying round held for CONCACAF teams.
Costa Rica qualified after defeating El Salvador's team 3-1 yesterday, Saturday, in the match held in Texas, United States.

Costa Rica's goals were scored by Galo in the 12th minute, Madrigal in the 56th minute, and Brenes in the 62nd minute, while Cerinos scored El Salvador's only goal in the 10th minute.

Meanwhile, the Canadian team secured its seat in the Copa America after beating Trinidad and Tobago with two clean goals scored by Larin in the 61st minute and Shavilburg in the 90+1 minute.

Thus, Canada joined Group A in the upcoming edition of Copa America alongside Argentina, Peru, and Chile, while Costa Rica was placed in Group D with Brazil, Colombia, and Paraguay.

The national teams of Mexico, Ecuador, Venezuela, and Jamaica were placed in Group B, while Group C included the teams of the United States, Uruguay, Panama, as well as Bolivia.

The Copa America tournament will be held in the United States starting from June 20 and will continue until July 14.
