As a conspiracy to rebel against Liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau brews among backbench MPs in his party, and after four additional ministers in the government announced they would not run in the next general election, Trudeau's attempt to keep the Liberal ship afloat and remain at the helm has become more difficult, according to the Canadian Press.

It is expected that Trudeau will make a cabinet shuffle for the third time since July after the four ministers informed him they would not be running for the election, which is supposed to take place no later than October 2025.

In detail, Filomena Tassi, the minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, who represents one of the ridings in this area, announced today that she will not run in the next election for personal reasons.

Sports Minister Carla Qualtrough also issued a statement announcing that she, too, would not seek re-election. Qualtrough, who represents one of the ridings in Greater Vancouver in British Columbia, provided little detail about the reasons for her decision, other than to say that the time has come for her to move to another field.

Minister of Northern Affairs, Dan Vandal, also announced today that he feels the time has come to move to the next stage of his career after spending about 30 years in politics. Vandal represents a riding in Winnipeg, the capital of Manitoba.

None of these ministers left the government immediately. Vandal said he will "work with the Prime Minister's Office to ensure an organized transition."
