Italian Carlo Ancelotti, the coach of Real Madrid, revealed the reasons for the decline in the team’s results after falling into the trap of a draw against their host team Las Palmas, with a score of one goal each, in the match that took place on Thursday evening, marking the conclusion of the third round of matches in the Spanish league for the current season 2024 - 2025.
Ancelotti said in his statements to the official website of Real Madrid, "The first half was poor. We find it difficult to find the solidity of last year. We need to maintain cohesion and suffer a little because the team has a good balance. We are not quick in movement and it is hard for us to regain the ball. All of this happened against Mallorca, I did not see any improvement. We need to look for a quick solution and we will find it."
He added, "It is difficult for us to find the solidity of last year. Now we can’t look for excuses, because the match schedule is busy and we have another match on Sunday. I need to be clearer in the strategy to convey this clarity to the players. It is undoubtedly hard. We need to work and focus on what we have to do. Fortunately, these three matches have shown me many things that are not going well."
Ancelotti continued, "I discovered that the play is slow, and there is no fluid movement. The ball reaches the attackers when the opponent's spaces are closed, and without the ball, we struggle to maintain cohesion. The problem is completely clear."
The Italian coach clarified, "I must look for it myself, not the players. When there is a problem, the coach is the one who is responsible for finding the solution. I will search for it until the team can play well and regain its strength. The team is intact."
Regarding the team's playing plan, Ancelotti spoke, saying, "When there is a central block, the team is not cohesive, and there is a large distance between the lines. We practiced good pressing, and what we need is more solidity in midfield and to regain the ball more."
