The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has officially announced the submission of its bid to host the 2034 World Cup to the International Football Federation (FIFA), after completing all the required details. Media sources described the bid as having received the highest rating in the history of bids to host the tournament. This nomination comes as part of Saudi Arabia's efforts to achieve an ambitious vision in organizing the largest international sporting events.
This phase is part of the official processes for nominating host countries, and it will later include site visits by FIFA to assess the infrastructure and organizational plans. The official announcement of the host country for the 2034 World Cup is expected on December 11, 2024.
The Saudi Minister of Sports expressed the Kingdom's commitment to organizing an exceptional edition with the participation of 48 teams, marking the first time the tournament will be held on such a scale in one country, emphasizing that hosting the World Cup is part of efforts to enhance the Kingdom's presence on the global sports stage.
