Fires broke out in 5 different areas in the Upper Galilee and the Golan Heights in northern Israel (the occupied territories), due to intercepted rockets and drones launched from southern Lebanon.

The official Israeli Broadcasting Authority and the newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" reported that fires erupted in at least 5 locations in the Upper Galilee and the Golan Heights, due to falling debris from interceptor rockets launched to intercept drones and rockets fired from southern Lebanon towards northern Israel.

The broadcasting authority noted that air raid sirens sounded continuously for a period coinciding with the launch of drones and rockets from southern Lebanon.

Earlier on Saturday, the Lebanese "Hezbollah" announced the targeting of the Israeli settlement "Elon" with a barrage of Katyusha rockets.

The National News Agency reported that Israeli warplanes launched a raid targeting multiple homes in the town of "Tir Harfa" in the Tyre District.

Israeli warplanes carried out two airstrikes on the town of Aita al-Shaab, dropping two missiles (air-to-ground), according to the agency.

Since October 8, Lebanese and Palestinian factions in Lebanon, most notably "Hezbollah," have been exchanging daily shelling with the Israeli occupation army across the "Blue Line," resulting in hundreds of dead and wounded, most of whom are on the Lebanese side.

The factions link the cessation of the shelling to the end of the war that Israel has been waging on the Gaza Strip since October 7, which has left more than 131,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of whom are children and women, along with over 10,000 missing, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.

This comes as Israel has been anticipating retaliatory reactions from Iran, "Hezbollah," and Hamas in response to the assassination of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran on July 31, and prominent party leader Fouad Shukr in Beirut the day before.
